CVICU RN Job Details

• Location: Rochester, NY 14621 (New York healthcare jobs)
• Assignment Type: Locum tenens (Travel Registered Nurse contract)
• Unit: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)
• Start Date: September 16, 2025
• End Date: December 16, 2025
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shifts: 4x12-hour night shifts (19:00 – 07:30), every other weekend required
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1,980 - $2,030 per week
• Patient Population: Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
• Unit Details: 16-bed CVICU, nurse-patient ratio 1:2, occasional 1:1 for high acuity
• Charting System: Epic (Epic EMR experience required)

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active New York Registered Nurse (RN) license in hand (required for NY nursing jobs)
• Minimum 1 year of recent CVICU nursing experience
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Proficiency with Epic charting system
• Must reside at least 75 miles from Rochester, NY (no local candidates)
• Willingness to float to other units as needed
• First-time travel nurses welcome!

CVICU RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to critically ill cardiovascular patients (sepsis, ARDS, renal failure, heart failure, multi-organ failure, post-cardiac arrest)
• Manage advanced therapies and equipment: CRRT, EKOS, IABP, ECMO, Impella, ventilators, vasoactive drips
• Assist with procedures: arterial and central line management, chest tube insertion/removal, wound care
• Interpret ABGs, dysrhythmias, and 12-lead EKGs
• Administer emergency medications, blood products, and procedural sedation
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams for optimal patient outcomes
• Follow infection prevention protocols and isolation precautions
• Float to other clinical units as required
