Summary:
Parabit Systems, a well-established and rapidly expanding company in the security and self-service equipment industries, is currently seeking a Estimator who will work directly with all department Staff, Supervisors & Managers to setup, reconcile and report on the progress and material/labor costs on all products, jobs and projects. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational, Microsoft Office and CAD drawing review skills, familiar with PC peripherals, basic knowledge of electronics, detail oriented, always willing to ask questions to resolve all concerns and possess an exceptional work ethic.
Duties and Tasks:
- Identify factors affecting costs, such as product development (NRE's) production time, materials, and labor.
- Ability to analyze drawings and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
- Calculate, analyze, and adjust estimates.
- Recommend ways to reduce costs without sacrificing quality.
- Work with sales teams to review RFP's and new product requests and prepare estimates and bids for clients.
- Maintain records of estimated and actual costs.
- Provide cost management support and insight for Manufacturing and Product Assembly BOM activities.
- Prepare required reports on ongoing jobs/projects, summarizing job/project to-date material and labor costs over/underestimated figures and verify latest BOM costs and report on BOM changes.
- Participate in all BOM related support for Design, Engineering, Production and Sales Departments.
- Recognize, identify, and correct data errors and process errors, ensure errors are corrected, identified, and reported.
- Establish List, Reseller and Distribution channel pricing per predefined markups and discounts.
- Work on fixed deadlines, plan work in advance and work efficiently and accurately.
- Ownership of the Product Inventory System and content, product/hierarchy numbering, dims, weight, pictures, production drawings and descriptions.
- Other duties as deemed essential for the position.
Skills/Experience/ Education:
- Bachelor's degree or higher.
- Reads manufacturing drawings (CAD/CAM) and technical documents to prepare estimates.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel.
- Familiarity with metal fabrication
- Basic knowledge of electrical components or technical background.
- Vendor Management experience
- Experienced with tracking and managing BOM costing revisions.
- Experience in Supply Chain Cost Analysis.
- Understanding of planning, sourcing, and procurement.
- Attention to detail and effective time management skills.
- Self-motivated, ability to initiate and follow tasks through to completion and can work independently.
- Ability to work in a fast paced, cross functional environment while maintaining composure, focus and a positive attitude.
- Proficient and transparent communication skills (verbal, written, listening).
- Good Computer skills (Microsoft Office) 40 WPM typing.
- Strong math and excel skills.
- Must be able to Multi-task.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Knowledge of Fishbowl is a plus.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams in a rapidly shifting work environment, to deliver value-added results.
