Founding Hospitality Team Member
Introduction
Sophia is a Mediterranean-inspired street food concept focused on exceptional food and hospitality. We operate from Williamsburg’s waterfront from May through the end of November.
Our menu is small, seasonal, and intentional; we have an in-house beverage program (coffee, tea and soda) and a lunch program with 3 options.

Opportunity
We are hiring 2–3 motivated team members to staff our operation in Bushwick Inlet Park (North 9th St & Kent Ave) and help us expand to new locations, both mobile and brick and mortar.
This is a rare opportunity to join a new team and work alongside the Chef Owner to continue building a hospitality brand, business, and community.
Requirements
- Align with the three values listed above
- Able to work physically (standing long hours, lifting heavy objects of 40+lbs., setting up a food cart)
Nice to Have (Not Required)
- Food service experience (front or back of house)
- Customer service experience
- English proficiency
- Marketing experience (social media, graphic design, videography, editing) Experience building and/or scaling a business

Bushwick Inlet Park – N 9th St Entrance, Brooklyn, NY 402 Johnson Ave, Brooklyn, NY
Additional locations for private events and catering
Responsibilities
- Preparing and packaging beverages, food items and service components Interacting with guests and providing excellent hospitality
- Setting up and breaking down the cart each day
- Maintaining cleanliness and organization
- Assisting with operational improvements as the business grows
Compensation / Opportunity
- $17–20/hr + tips, depending on experience
- Seasonal position (May through end of November)
- Opportunities available in the off-season for pop-ups, catering and events
- 40–50 hours per week depending on event schedule and weather
- 30 hours guaranteed pay in the event of weather-related closure
- Potential for increased compensation depending on performance & contributions

La Oportunidad
Estamos contratando 2–3 personas motivadas para trabajar en nuestra operación en Bushwick Inlet Park (North 9th St & Kent Ave) y ayudarnos a crecer hacia nuevas ubicaciones, tanto móviles como locales físicos.
Esta es una gran oportunidad para unirse a un equipo nuevo y trabajar directamente con el chef propietario, ayudando a construir una marca, un negocio y una comunidad.
Requisitos
- Identificarse con los valores mencionados
- Poder realizar trabajo físico (estar de pie por varias horas, levantar objetos de más de 40 libras y ayudar a montar el carrito de comida)
Experiencia que Valoramos (No Obligatoria)
- Experiencia en restaurantes o comida (cocina o servicio) Experiencia atendiendo clientes
- Inglés básico o intermedio
- Experiencia con redes sociales, diseño o video
- Experiencia ayudando a crecer un negocio o proyecto

Responsabilidades
- Preparar y empacar bebidas y alimentos
- Atender a los clientes con amabilidad y profesionalismo
- Montar y desmontar el carrito cada día
- Mantener limpieza y organización en el área de trabajo
- Ayudar a mejorar las operaciones mientras el negocio crece
Pago y Oportunidad
- $17–20 por hora + propinas, según experiencia
- Trabajo de temporada (mayo – noviembre)
- Posibilidades de trabajar en eventos, pop-ups y catering durante el invierno 40–50 horas por semana, dependiendo del clima y los eventos
- Pago garantizado de 30 horas si el negocio debe cerrar por mal clima
- Posibilidad de aumento de salario según desempeño y contribuciones
