Human Resources Coordinator
Position Summary
The Human Resources Coordinator supports the daily operations of the HR department for a growing restaurant group across two restaurant locations (Eleven Madison Park and Clemente Bar). This role is responsible for coordinating payroll processing, employee onboarding and offboarding, benefits administration support, compliance tracking and recruiting as needed. The HR Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring accurate payroll, consistent HR practices, and compliance with applicable employment laws while supporting a fast-paced hospitality environment.
Essential Responsibilities
Payroll Administration
- Process and coordinate weekly payroll for approximately 200 hourly and salaried employees across two company locations. Processing on Fridays.
- Review timekeeping records for accuracy, ensuring proper wage rates, overtime, tips, and deductions are applied
- Partner with restaurant management to resolve payroll discrepancies and timekeeping issues
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws
- Maintain payroll records, audits, and reports in accordance with company policy and legal requirements
- Coordinate payroll-related changes including new hires, terminations, pay adjustments, and tax updates
Employee Onboarding & Offboarding for Eleven Madison Park and Clemente Bar
- Coordinate onboarding for new hires, including offer documentation, I-9 verification, W-4 processing, and system setup
- Ensure completion of new hire paperwork and compliance training
- Prepare all day one items
- Support offboarding processes, including final pay coordination, exit documentation, and system access updates
HR Operations & Employee Support for Eleven Madison Park and Clemente Bar
- Serve as a primary point of contact for employee questions related to payroll, benefits, and company policies
- Assist managers with employee documentation, and corrective action forms for smaller daily incidents
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee personnel files (digital and physical)
- Support employee relations initiatives and escalate issues to HR leadership as appropriate
- Oversee ongoing recruiting efforts by partnering with managers on job postings, candidate screening, and interview coordination to ensure timely and effective hiring.
Benefits & Leave Administration for Eleven Madison Park and Clemente Bar
- Assist with benefits enrollment, changes, and employee communications
- Coordinate leave administration (FMLA, state leave programs, company leaves) and track documentation
- Support HR leadership with annual open enrollment and benefits audits
Compliance & Reporting for Eleven Madison Park and Clemente Bar
- Track required employment documentation, certifications, and training compliance
- Assist with unemployment claims, workers’ compensation reporting, and employment verifications
- Support HR audits and ensure compliance with company policies and labor regulations
HR Projects & Administrative Support
- Assist HR leadership with HR initiatives, and policy update roll outs
- Prepare HR reports and metrics as requested
- Support recruiting coordination, including interview scheduling and applicant tracking system updates
Qualifications
- 1+ years of payroll experience in hospitality for multi-unit operations and basic HR responsibilities
- Knowledge of city and state labor laws
- Working knowledge of wage and hour laws and payroll best practices
- Proficiency with HRIS, payroll, and timekeeping systems
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to be onsite 5 days a week
