Registered Nurse (RN) – Correctional Facility

Location: Bedford Hills, NY 10507

Schedule: Day Shift | 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM | 5 Days per Week

Contract Length: 13 Weeks

Pay Rate: $54 – $58 per hour

Position Overview

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to provide comprehensive medical and mental health care within a correctional facility setting. The RN will be responsible for conducting patient assessments, administering medications, coordinating care, and ensuring the overall health and safety of the patient population.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive medical and mental health assessments, including history taking and physical examinations

• Perform suicide risk screenings and patient observations upon intake

• Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans

• Execute both independent and collaborative nursing interventions

• Administer prescribed medications and monitor patients for therapeutic and adverse effects

• Initiate and maintain IV lines; manage pain and ongoing treatment plans

• Provide patient education to promote understanding of health conditions and treatment plans

• Assist with referrals, patient transfers, and interdisciplinary care coordination

• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient interactions in accordance with facility standards

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of New York

• Minimum of one (1) year of nursing experience (correctional, psychiatric, or acute care experience preferred)

• Strong knowledge of medical and mental health assessment procedures

• Proficiency in IV therapy, medication administration, and patient education

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a structured environment

• Strong communication, clinical judgment, and documentation skills

Requirements & Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required

• COVID-19 vaccination required (medical exemptions considered per policy)

• Influenza vaccination requirements may vary based on facility guidelines
