Position Overview
A growing service-based organization is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to support employees and managers across multiple departments. This role will be responsible for day-to-day HR operations while helping maintain a positive workplace culture and ensuring compliance with company policies and employment regulations.
The Human Resources Generalist will oversee a variety of HR functions, including employee relations, onboarding, benefits administration, compliance, performance management support, employee engagement, HR reporting, and talent acquisition. This individual will also assist with recruiting efforts during periods of business growth and increased hiring activity.
The ideal candidate has 2–4 years of Human Resources experience, is bilingual in English and Spanish, possesses excellent communication and organizational skills, and enjoys balancing administrative responsibilities with employee-facing support in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Human Resources
- Serve as a resource for employees and managers regarding HR policies, procedures, benefits, and employment-related questions.
- Support employee relations by assisting with workplace concerns, investigations, conflict resolution, and performance-related matters.
- Coordinate employee onboarding, orientation, and new hire documentation.
- Conduct exit interviews and assist with employee engagement and retention initiatives.
- Administer employee benefit programs, including enrollment, changes, and annual open enrollment activities.
- Maintain accurate employee records, HRIS data, and personnel files while ensuring confidentiality.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
- Assist with workers' compensation, unemployment claims, employment verification, and I-9 administration.
- Support payroll administration as needed.
- Coordinate performance review processes, training initiatives, and employee development programs.
- Prepare HR reports and analyze workforce metrics such as turnover, headcount, retention, and hiring trends.
Recruiting & Talent Acquisition
- Manage recruiting efforts for a variety of operational, administrative, customer support, and leadership positions.
- Post job openings, source candidates, screen resumes, and conduct initial interviews.
- Coordinate interview scheduling, candidate communication, background checks, reference checks, and offer preparation.
- Build candidate pipelines for ongoing hiring needs.
- Participate in hiring events, employee referral initiatives, and community recruiting efforts.
- Support workforce planning during periods of seasonal or accelerated hiring.
Qualifications
Required
- 2–4 years of Human Resources experience.
- Fluent in both English and Spanish.
- Experience with employee relations, onboarding, benefits administration, compliance, and recruiting.
- Working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
- Experience using HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Close attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
Preferred
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- SHRM-CP, PHR, or similar HR certification.
- Experience supporting employees in manufacturing, industrial, distribution, logistics, healthcare, hospitality, or other service-oriented environments.
- Experience supporting both hourly and salaried workforces, including union and non-union employees.
$65-75k base salary + full comprehensive benefits
