Night Shift Maintenance Technician

Job Summary
The Night Shift Maintenance Technician is responsible for keeping production equipment, utilities, and building systems operating reliably during overnight hours. This role plays a critical part in minimizing downtime, ensuring safety, and supporting the overall productivity of the plant.
Day‑to‑Day Duties
- Conduct preventive maintenance tasks such as inspections, lubrications, calibrations, and safety checks.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues on production machinery.
- Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns, diagnose root causes, and implement effective fixes.
- Document all maintenance activities, parts replaced, and hours worked in the maintenance management system.
- Coordinate with day‑shift teams to ensure smooth handover of ongoing projects and open work orders.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work area in compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.
- Manage spare‑part inventory, reorder low‑stock items, and assist in procurement of maintenance supplies.
- Participate in continuous‑improvement initiatives, suggesting equipment upgrades or process enhancements.
- Perform occasional light fabrication, welding, and part machining as required.
Must‑Haves (Essential Qualifications)
- High school diploma or GED; technical certification or associate degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance preferred.
- Proficiency with PLCs, VFDs, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, and basic electrical schematics.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and safety documentation.
- Strong independent problem‑solving skills and the capability to work night hours with minimal supervision.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Physical ability to lift 50 lb and work comfortably in confined or noisy environments.
Nice‑to‑Haves (Desired Experience)
- 2+ years of hands‑on maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Experience with metal fabrication, welding, and routine machine repairs.
- Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures.
- Prior experience on night or rotating shifts.
- Basic computer skills for logging maintenance data and using CMMS software.
