LUCHA Program Coordinator (Full-Time, 1.0 FTE)
Overview
The Program Coordinator for the Many Cultures Learning Lab (MCLL) will lead the implementation, coordination, and evaluation of a comprehensive, culturally responsive education initiative serving refugee, immigrant, and Latino youth and their families in the Mohawk Valley region.
Funded through the LUCHA New York initiative, the MCLL program expands access to educational enrichment, family literacy, digital inclusion, and after-school and summer learning opportunities. The Coordinator will oversee program activities including tutoring, family engagement workshops, STEM and arts programming, and digital literacy training, ensuring services are linguistically accessible and culturally grounded.
Primary Responsibilities
Program Coordination & Implementation
- Coordinate all MCLL program activities including after-school tutoring, summer learning programs, family workshops, and enrichment activities
- Develop and manage program schedules, curriculum supports, and activity planning aligned with LUCHA priority areas (education, language access, workforce exposure)
- Ensure culturally and linguistically responsive service delivery across all program components
- Oversee participant recruitment, enrollment, and retention strategies targeting refugee, immigrant, and Latino youth and families
Family Engagement & Education
- Lead multilingual family literacy and parent engagement workshops focused on school navigation, educational support, and digital access
- Support caregivers in understanding school systems, communication tools, and student success strategies
Youth Development & Enrichment
- Coordinate tutoring, STEM, arts, and culturally responsive programming for youth participants
- Organize mentorship opportunities and career exposure events with community professionals
- Support youth social-emotional development through safe, inclusive, and engaging program environments
- Connect youth with volunteers and mentors to assist with tutoring and program activities
Digital Literacy & Access
- Connect individuals to digital literacy workshops for youth and caregivers
- Coordinate distribution and tracking of devices (e.g., Chromebooks) and technology supports
- Ensure participants can effectively access educational platforms, school portals, and online resources
Data Collection, Evaluation & Reporting
- Track program participation, outcomes, and performance metrics
- Administer participant surveys and collect qualitative and quantitative data for grant reporting
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with LUCHA grant requirements
