We are seeking an experienced Nurse Supervisor to provide leadership coverage for the Maternal Child Health Department.  This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned nursing leader with strong operational, supervisory, and patient care management experience.

Position Details

• Location: Harlem Hospital Center – New York, NY 10037
• Department: Nursing – Maternal Child Health
• Schedule: Monday–Friday
• Hours: 37.5 hours/week
• Shift Requirements: Some off-shift and weekend coverage as determined by leadership
• Contract Length: Approximately 14 weeks with possible extension

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support nursing operations within the Maternal Child Health Department
• Develop and implement programs to improve patient care quality and employee performance
• Monitor clinical performance and collaborate with nurse managers on corrective actions
• Create and maintain systems for medication error tracking and staff counseling documentation
• Ensure compliance with nursing standards, hospital policies, and regulatory requirements
• Support staff development, operational efficiency, and patient satisfaction initiatives
• Provide leadership presence during designated off-shift and weekend coverage

Requirements

• Active RN License (New York State)
• BLS Certification
• Primary Source Verification through NYSED
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
• Minimum 7 years of nursing experience
• Minimum 5 years in a supervisory or leadership role

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Nursing
• Director-level nursing leadership experience
• Maternal Child Health expertise strongly preferred
