Restaurant Yuu, a Michelin-starred French restaurant located in Greenpoint, is seeking a dedicated and creative Pastry Chef to join our culinary team.
Situated directly across from McCarren Park, our restaurant offers refined French cuisine in a bright, serene setting filled with natural light and seasonal inspiration.

Restaurant Yuu is accepting resumes for a Pastry Chef .
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Preparing and executing high-quality desserts and pastry components for tasting menus

• Developing seasonal dessert concepts that align with the restaurant’s culinary philosophy

• Producing breads, pastries, and plated desserts with precision and consistency

• Managing mise en place, ordering, and inventory control for the pastry section

• Maintaining cleanliness, organization, and food safety standards in the pastry kitchen

• Collaborating closely with the head chef and kitchen team to deliver a cohesive dining experience

• Upholding culinary excellence consistent with Michelin-starred standards

▼Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess the following:

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Pastry Chef or Pastry Cook in fine dining or Michelin-starred restaurants

• Strong foundational skills in French pastry techniques

• Ability to work efficiently and calmly in a high-pressure, service-driven environment

• Passion for craftsmanship, seasonality, and continuous improvement

• Team-oriented mindset with professionalism and respect for colleagues

• Legal authorization to work in the United States

Formal pastry education or international experience is a plus, but not required if equivalent professional experience is demonstrated.

• Hourly Rate: $20–$25 (based on experience, plus tips where applicable)

• Schedule: Tuesday through Saturday, excluding restaurant holidays and designated closure days

• References: Final candidates must provide at least two professional references. Reference checks will be conducted with the candidate’s consent.
