Volunteers of America of Upstate New York's Children's Center services provides educational programs focused on early childhood development and school readiness for children 6 weeks through 12 . The center serves more than 500 children and families on an annual basis and provides additional support services such as family development services, on-going parent training, full-day care, and disability supports for children with special needs.

Front Desk and Enrollment Specialist

Rochester, NY

Full-Time Monday-Friday 8:00 AM- 4:30 PM

$15-17/hr.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Front Desk Duties Answer telephones in a courteous and friendly manner; answer questions and direct calls as appropriate Process payments from parents and ensure security of such payments Maintain building security at all times (monitor doors; greet and direct staff, families and visitors; verify identity of pick-up persons as needed; direct visitors as needed) Assist families and visitors as needed with completion of paperwork (program application forms, child care statements, etc.)

Database Maintenance Enter attendance for all children center-wide Enter attendance and meal counts for all children enrolled in EPK, UPK and School Age Enter DSS attendance daily

Monthly Reports Complete occupancy report per established timelines Complete and submit DSS billing per established timelines

General Attendance and enrollment follow up calls as needed. Ensure confidentiality is maintained at all times. Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS High School diploma/GED Associate's degree or equivalent experience preferred 1 year of experience in clerical office setting Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong analytical, problem solving, and data compilation skills. Detail oriented and self-motivated. Ability to meet deadlines despite multiple priorities. Able to work independently and in a team environment. Ability to work with limited supervision Patience and tact in dealing with outside agencies, children, parents, and staff Experience working with client population served preferred.
