A private members club located in New York City is seeking an experienced Executive Chef to lead the culinary direction of the property. This position requires a dynamic leader with a refined culinary perspective, exceptional operational discipline, and a deeply collaborative approach to leadership. The Executive Chef will oversee all culinary operations across the club, ensuring an elevated and consistent dining experience that reflects the sophistication, discretion, and hospitality standards synonymous with the brand. This individual will play a critical role in shaping culture within the kitchen while maintaining an unwavering commitment to excellence, professionalism, and member satisfaction. This role also offers an exceptional quality of life and work-life balance rarely found within luxury hospitality environments.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and oversee all culinary operations, including restaurant service, private dining, events, and member programming
• Develop and execute seasonal menus that reflect consistency and elevated standards
• Build, mentor, and inspire a high-performing culinary team through collaborative leadership and clear accountability
• Establish and maintain systems that support operational excellence, organization, and efficiency
• Partner closely with Front of House and Executive Leadership to ensure seamless service and a cohesive member experience
• Drive financial performance through effective labor management, food costing, purchasing, and inventory controls
• Maintain the highest standards of professionalism, sanitation, food safety, and DOH compliance
• Create a positive and respectful kitchen culture rooted in teamwork, growth, and mutual support
• Oversee recruitment, training, scheduling, and performance management for all BOH team members
• Remain actively engaged on the floor during service, leading by example and maintaining visibility with both staff and members
Qualifications
• 7+ years of progressive culinary leadership experience in luxury hospitality, fine dining, or private members clubs
• Strong background in high-touch guest experiences and elevated service environments
• Demonstrated success leading collaborative teams while maintaining exceptional standards
• Deep understanding of kitchen operations, financial management, and multi-outlet execution
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• NYC DOH Food Protection Certificate preferred
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require
