Assistant to Executive Chef

We are seeking a highly motivated individual dedicated to culinary excellence to join our company as a Chef's Kitchen Assistant. This a great opportunity for someone who wants to learn high level skills working alongside a global Executive Chef. The ideal candidate has some formal culinary and pastries training, in addition to excellent multitasking and organizational skills. Chef's Assistant Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare all ingredients for the daily menu, including chopping vegetables, thawing frozen items, preparing sauces, and setting out any special items
- Assist the Executive Chef with salads, side dishes, and appetizers preparation
- Daily cleaning of kitchen after every meal preparation, including putting dishes in the dishwasher and taking them out as needed
- Work alongside the Executive Chef to come up with new recipes for the Chobani Café
- Prepare pastries daily according to selected menus
- Handle daily food shopping from the markets as directed by the Executive Chef
- Miscellaneous daily or weekly kitchen errands
Chef's Assistant Requirements and Qualifications
- High School Diploma preferred
- 1-3 years of professional experience in a fast-paced environment
- Formal culinary training including pastries
- Excellent self-motivation and the ability to work both supervised and unsupervised
- Strong multitasking and organizational skills
- Valid Drivers License in order transport groceries from specialty grocers (for example, travel to New Jersey) Eligible for reimbursement for travel expense (mileage, etc.)
Compensation Range: $68,000.00 - $102,000.00, plus bonus.
