Phamacy Technician
Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in technical operations and maintenance, with the ability to work effectively in a manufacturing facility. This role requires proficiency in various technical disciplines.
Duties
- Assist pharmacists in filling prescriptions accurately and efficiently
- Prepare and label medications for distribution, ensuring all prescription labels include the correct SIG codes provided by the prescribing provider
- Know and accurately interpret SIG codes provided by healthcare providers for dispensing medications
- Type out directions as indicated by providers, ensuring clarity and accuracy
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering and restocking medications
- Provide exceptional customer service, answering patient questions and providing medication counseling under the guidance of the pharmacist
- Ensure pharmacy areas are clean, organized, and compliant with health and safety regulations
- Process prescription transactions and handle insurance claims
- Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines
- Perform other administrative tasks as needed, such as filing and maintaining records
Skills
- Fluency in both Spanish and English
- Basic computer skills
- Basic Mathematical knowledge (I.e calculation for day supplies)
- Effective communication with both coworkers and customers
