- Value Proposition Development: Craft and refine differentiated value propositions for MetLife’s full suite of Group Benefits products, grounded in customer needs, competitive dynamics, and market opportunity.
- Product Positioning & Messaging: Define the strategic messaging frameworks that clarify each product’s role, relevance, and advantage within the broader portfolio and benefits ecosystem.
- Strategic Narrative Building: Develop cohesive stories that connect MetLife’s product capabilities to the changing needs of employers, employees, and brokers—shaping how the brand shows up across touchpoints.
- Market & Customer Insights : Partner with Research, Product, and Strategy teams to identify emerging trends, unmet needs, and whitespace opportunities that inform product strategy and messaging.
- Portfolio Storytelling: Establish a clear, compelling narrative that ties MetLife’s diverse product offerings together in a way that resonates with key stakeholders and supports cross-product growth.
- Thought Partnership: Act as a strategic thought partner to Product, Sales, and Marketing leadership providing insight, guidance, and perspective on how to position offerings for maximum impact.
What You Need to Succeed (Required Qualifications)
- 8 -10+ years of experience in product marketing, brand strategy, or strategic communications, ideally in insurance, financial services, healthcare, or technology.
- Expertise in building differentiated value propositions and translating complex offerings into clear, human-centered narratives.
- Strong analytical thinking with the ability to synthesize market, customer, and competitive insights into actionable strategies.
- Experience working closely with product teams and influencing go-to-market direction without owning execution.
- Exceptional storytelling and strategic writing skills, with an eye for nuance and relevance across audiences.
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MBA or similar) preferred.
