About Us
Layla is a bar and restaurant in Williamsburg offering aperitivo-style cocktails and Euro-inspired share plates in a relaxed, vibey atmosphere. Layla is an instant old faithful, the kind of place guests come to for dinner in the airy back dining room or to settle in at the bar for a few hours while slowly making their way through the cocktail and food menu. We're a neighborhood spot built on genuine hospitality, and we're looking for an experienced Server to join our front-of-house team.
What You'll Do
- Provide attentive, knowledgeable, and personable service from greeting to farewell
- Guide guests through the food, wine and cocktail menu, including our aperitivo-style drinks and shareable plates
- Take accurate orders and communicate clearly with the kitchen and bar
- Anticipate guest needs and handle special requests or concerns with professionalism
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of your section and side stations
- Work collaboratively with the team during high-volume service, including weekend brunch
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of experience serving in a full-service restaurant or bar (busy, high-volume settings preferred)
- Strong beverage knowledge — cocktails, wine, or willingness to learn our aperitivo-focused list in depth
- Excellent communication and multitasking skills under pressure
- A positive, team-oriented attitude and genuine hospitality mindset
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
