Automotive Service Advisor (Dealership Experience Required)

The Service Advisor serves as the primary point of contact between customers and the service department. This role involves understanding customer needs, advising on vehicle repairs and maintenance, and ensuring that all work is performed efficiently and to the highest standards. The Service Advisor plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer service and driving repeat business.
Responsibilities:
Customer Interaction:
- Greet customers promptly and courteously, both in person and over the phone.
- Listen to customer concerns and gather detailed information about vehicle issues and maintenance needs.
- Clearly explain the recommended services and repairs, providing accurate estimates for labor, parts, and time.
- Service Coordination:
- Schedule service appointments and coordinate with the service team to ensure timely completion of work.
- Maintain clear communication with customers throughout the repair process, providing updates on the status of their vehicles.
- Review completed work with customers, explaining any additional repairs or services that were needed.
Sales and Upselling:
- Identify opportunities to upsell additional services or maintenance based on vehicle inspection results and manufacturer recommendations.
- Explain the benefits of preventive maintenance and additional services to help customers make informed decisions.
Documentation and Compliance:
- Prepare accurate repair orders by documenting customer information, vehicle details, and the specific services to be performed.
- Ensure all services are documented correctly and that invoices are accurate before presenting them to the customer.
- Stay informed about warranty policies and ensure that any covered repairs are handled according to manufacturer guidelines.
Customer Satisfaction:
- Resolve any customer concerns or complaints in a professional and timely manner.
- Follow up with customers after service to ensure satisfaction and encourage repeat business.
- Participate in customer satisfaction initiatives, such as follow-up calls, surveys, and loyalty programs.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with technicians to ensure accurate diagnosis and efficient service delivery.
- Communicate with the parts department to ensure timely availability of necessary parts.
- Experience working as a Service Advisor in a dealership preferred
- The ability to problem solve, communicate effectively and work in a team setting
You must be able to successfully undergo a background check, drug test and physical within NYS standards.
