Job Title: Human Resources Manager

Position Summary:
Kommissary is a social enterprise on a mission to spread joy through food. We produce and deliver high volumes of meals spanning a diverse array of cuisines to every demographic in New York City.

Join us at Kommissary as our Human Resources Manager, where you will manage the creation, development and implementation of HR policies, programs, and services. You'll manage a range of HR activities, including recruitment, employee relations, staff engagement, benefit administration, and training. Serving as a strategic business partner, you'll address people matters affecting performance and foster a workplace environment aligned with Kommissary's values, mission, and vision. Success in the Role:
HR Policy and Employee Relations:
- Strong experience with employee relations, supporting managers with routine and more complex employee relations matters
- Lead employee relations and policy violation investigations, with detailed reports, findings, and recommendations
- Monitor company policies and procedures in the Employee Handbook and make revision and updates as applicable and to ensure legal compliance
Benefits and Compensation Administration:
- Coordinate relationships with our benefits brokers and vendors to ensure the best benefits experience for our employees
- Manage new hire and open enrollment benefits process
- Design and administer progressive compensation and benefits programs to motivate and reward employees while maintaining compliance with legal standards.
- Oversee payroll process and procedure
Recruiting:
- Manage recruiting, staffing, and selection process to attract and recruit high-quality candidates
- Develop long-term relationships to enhance our talent pipeline flow.
Additional Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field required.
- HRCI or SHRM Certification.
- Minimum of 5+ years experience in a human resources generalist role.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Highly organized, structured, and detail-oriented in approach to leading teams.
- Exceptional people leader who knows how to get the best out of individuals and teams.
- Innovative thinker who can develop solutions and is comfortable with ambiguity.
- Resilient approach that doesn’t dwell on setbacks, finding creative solutions to obstacles.
- Deep knowledge of factors that influence the staff experience.
- Experience improving staff experience, retention, and operational efficiency in previous roles.
- Strong interpersonal, oral, written communication and collaborative skills.
- Advanced computer skills.
Physical Demands: Generally, presents standard office environment. Must be able to remain in a stationary position >95% of the time. Continually operates a computer, keyboard and mouse, and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, printer, and mobile Smartphone device. May occasionally be required to move about in an office setting or position office equipment weighing between 10-25 pounds. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision. The person in this position frequently communicates with other people. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
