Heavy Equipment Mechanic – Albany, NY

Pay: $38.90+/hr | Full-Time | Union Position | Local 158 Operating Engineers

Contractors Sales Company, Inc., the Capital District's premier heavy construction equipment dealership, is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our growing Service team in Albany, NY. What You'll Do

• Diagnose and repair heavy construction equipment (excavators, wheel loaders, drill rigs, crushing plants, etc.).
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems independently.
• Perform preventative maintenance and high-quality repairs.
• Rebuild and install engines, transmissions, pumps, and components.
• Maintain accurate service records and communicate with the Service team.

What We're Looking For

• 7+ years of heavy equipment repair experience (diesel, hydraulics, transmissions, electrical), or completion of a trade school program (military/field mechanic experience also considered).
• Familiarity with Link-Belt, Hitachi, Kawasaki, Sandvik, or Anaconda equipment a plus.
• Must have own tools, valid driver's license, and clean driving record.
• Self-motivated, organized, and team oriented.

Work Environment

• Role involves daily work in a shop environment and are expected to maintain safe work practices.
• Candidates hired into this role will be exposed to various hazardous materials, outdoor weather conditions and will work near moving and rotating machinery daily.
• This position may require some travel

Physical & Mental Demands

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Perform extensive standing, walking, bending, stooping and use of hands
• Frequent talking, hearing, kneeling, crouching and crawling
• Utilize the tools, machinery and testing equipment required for all duties
• Effectively work with laptop diagnostic tools and use other computer programs
• Effectively read, understand and utilize technical manuals, hydraulic and electrical schematics
• Effectively complete tasks in a noisy environment
• Effectively apply established protocols in a timely manner
