Qualifications:

Must meet Civil Service Requirements - Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and additional experience and knowledge in particular field where specialized duties are involved.

Responsibilities/Duties:

The aide assignment is to provide assistance to students throughout the school day. The incumbent is expected to exercise good judgement and to have considerable ability to work successfully with direct and indirect suspervision. Duties include:

• Flexibility in completing daily tasks, and experience in supporting student learning;

• Provide targeted 1:1 academic and behavioral support to students with specialized needs;

• Provide assistance with transitions, and accompany students in the hallways, to special area classes, and in the cafeteria;

• Deliver refocusing prompts, and help with the execution of classroom routines;

• Monitor and support student behavioral goals, and task completion;

• Collect data relative to students' behavior support plans; and

• Other duties as assigned by the building principal and supervising teacher.
