ER Registered Nurse Job Details

• Job Title: Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN)
• Location: Rochester, NY 14626 – Western New York healthcare jobs
• Facility Setting: Emergency Room (ER) – Adult & Pediatric
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), 3 shifts/week (36 or 48 hours/week options)
• Contract Length: 13 weeks (Start: 10/13/2025 – End: 1/12/2026)
• Patient Ratio: 1:5, mixed acuity
• Orientation: 16 hours
• Charting System: Epic (Epic EMR experience required)
• Scrub Colors: Navy and white
• Float: Required based on census
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend

ER Nurse Qualifications

• Active New York Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency Room nursing experience
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS
• Proficiency with Epic EMR charting
• Ability to float to other hospital units as needed
• Not accepting candidates within 75 miles of Rochester, NY
• Experience caring for all patient age groups: neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, geriatrics

ER Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care to diverse patient populations in a busy ER
• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias and multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
• Administer blood products, emergency medications, IV vasopressors, and continuous IV sedation/paralytics
• Perform central line care, phlebotomy, and initiate IVs
• Deliver procedural sedation and manage patients with CVA and isolation precautions
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, respiratory, physical therapy, pharmacy)
• Float to other units as required
• Maintain accurate documentation using Epic EMR
