Job Summary:

The Future Ready Navigator helps students chart individualized paths to success in middle school, high school, and beyond. Through a solutions-focused approach, navigators support students in identifying strengths, overcoming challenges, and exploring and pursuing college and career interests. The person in this role will be part of a team focused on mitigating barriers by providing wraparound support services through mentorship, family outreach, and connection to community resources. This position requires a high level of flexibility and familiarity with local schools and agencies.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct school and home visits as appropriate in a “whole-child” model. Communicate with families monthly, at minimum.
  • Maintain records and data regarding program participation, one-to-one/small-group meetings, school engagement, family needs, etc.
  • Develop trusting, developmental relationships with students and their families.
  • Utilize a solutions-focused approach to help students identify assets and strengths and leverage them to solve problems.
  • Plan and facilitate social-emotional learning enrichments to support skill development.
  • Refer and connect students to appropriate community resources that can address their specific needs.
  • Communicate with direct service providers to ensure appropriate referrals, monitor progress, and coordinate services.
  • Collaborate with school-based staff to understand students’ needs, monitor student progress, and foster effective communication between school and family.
  • Facilitate weekly “student report” meetings to update the whole team on relevant student information.
  • Support academic and enrichment programming as determined by the Future Ready leadership team.
  • Participate in and contribute to team, employer, and school meetings, presenting data and observations of youth progress and performance.
  • Identify youth who need more intensive services; refer youth and families to Family Navigation (when appropriate).
  • Chaperone off-site trips, including an occasional weekend event and an annual multi-day overnight college tour.
  • May provide students with transportation to and from program, when necessary, using EnCompass vehicles.
  • Participate in professional development, orientations, and student events.
