Major Food Group is hiring a Food & Beverage Administrative Assistant to join our team at THE GRILL & THE POOL !

THE GRILL is a historically based American chophouse set in midcentury New York. It takes great inspiration from history; both the time the Seagram Building was built and the restaurants that existed at that time. It is the precursor to the NY Steakhouse, when things were still intricate and elegant. It celebrates all the animals of the land and some of our favorites from the sea. There is extensive table side preparation and service. There is also extensive use of THE GRILL. It is the name of the restaurant, the style of restaurant, and the piece of equipment we use in the kitchen for many of our signature preparations.

THE POOL , situated in the landmarked Seagram Building, has been home to New York's most storied parties and events for over half a century. With its soaring 20-foot ceilings, white-marble fountain, and shimmering chain curtains enveloping the walls, THE POOL is an iconic venue where the room itself is an occasion. Conveying mid-century elegance and fantastical grandeur in equal measure, THE POOL lends itself to a variety of configurations and is, simply put, the finest events space in all of New York City.


RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Coordinates day-to-day administrative responsibilities for both FOH and BOH teams, including menu printing, creation of menu descriptions, food costing and data entry, along with the implementation and execution of administrative procedures and systems
  • Executes administrative responsibilities for small and large scale events including the creation of event staffing assignments, build out of event checks in the POS and printing of all events materials
  • Collaborates effectively with the Events, Purchasing and Accounting teams to execute daily responsibilities
  • Become knowledgeable in all policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines and training programs for the restaurant
  • Prioritizes and manages multiple projects simultaneously and follows through on issues in a timely manner
  • Prepare all required paperwork, including forms, reports and schedules in an organized and timely manner
  • Provide assistance on special projects as assigned
  • Act as an ambassador to Major Food Group culture
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the General Manager and Executive Chef

REQUIREMENTS :

  • Minimum 1-2 years administrative assistance and/or client services preferably in hospitality industry
  • Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, and administrative skills
  • Proficiency in Toast, Google Suite, Excel, and Tripleseat preferred but not required
  • Strong work ethic, sense of urgency, enthusiasm, team-oriented, positive attitude are essential

Compensation : $25.00 - $27.00 per hour based on experience
