FOH
Raku is an upscale casual restaurant specializing in udon noodles along with other Japanese small bites.
We are seeking experienced bussers/runners, servers, baristas and hosts to join our team to fill 3 - 5 shifts/week in all three locations (East Village, Soho, and Midtown). The role requires availability on weekends (Friday through Sunday) for lunch/dinner shifts, as well as 1-2 additional weekday lunch/dinner shift.The ideal candidate is someone with experience in the industry, unafraid to learn a new restaurant from the inside out, proactively seeks ways to earn the respect of their peers, demonstrates the ability to consistently perform at a high level, and always conducts business in a professional manner.
Day-to-day responsibilities:
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Full knowledge of the food and drink menu and being able to describe and recommend dishes to customers. Being able to explain how various menu items are prepared, describing ingredients and cooking methods.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Stock service areas with supplies such as tableware, linens, and drink supplies.
- Perform opening/closing duties, such as sweeping and mopping floors, cleaning up the server station, and taking out trash.
- Familiarity with Toast and use of mobile payment terminals
- Familiarity with Resy or the mobile waitlist system is an asset
