Groundwork Operations, LLC
New York, NY

Job Description

Job Description

ABOUT THE COMPANY:

Groundwork Operations, LLC provides general and specialized Crew to handle a wide range of tasks, including set-up and break-down of indoor and outdoor experiential events, brand activations, and more, throughout NY, NJ, PA, and MA. Our team works projects of all sizes, from small actions that a single Crew Member can handle autonomously, to large scale events such as the NY Marathon where we have dozens of shifts available on a daily basis for several weeks. We also provide project management and general and specialized labor support for travel-based warehouse and facility projects throughout North America. Our crew travels to different client locations to support small-to-medium scale projects such as warehouse build-outs, workspace reconfigurations, station assembly, wire and cable management, and material handling. All work is performed on-site at client facilities—there is no fixed or permanent work location.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

This job is gig-based and 100% travel-based. You are applying to be included in our database of General Workers and Warehouse Crew Members who are offered individual shifts at varying client locations based on project demand. You must be comfortable traveling to different sites for every assignment. Travel costs including flights, hotels, and per diem for food will be included.

Shifts may occur on weekdays, weekends, and occasional overnights depending on project schedules and timelines.

This role is ideal for individuals seeking flexible, hands-on work who enjoy changing environments and project-based assignments. Our crew includes people from a wide range of backgrounds, including tradespeople, students, creatives, and professionals seeking supplemental income. Some crew members accept only a few shifts per year, while others work 40+ hours per week during busy periods.

Motivated and reliable crew members may receive more frequent shift offers, additional training opportunities, increased responsibilities, and pay increases over time.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Traveling to different warehouse, office, and facility locations for each project
  • Loading and unloading tools, materials, and equipment at client sites
  • Building and assembling workstations, shelving, racks, and modular systems
  • Assisting with warehouse layout changes and workspace reconfigurations
  • Running, organizing, bundling, securing, and labeling cables and wires
  • Supporting wire management projects, including cleanup and final organization

  • Ability to follow layout plans, diagrams, or verbal instructions on-site

SOFT SKILLS:

  • Ability to reliably manage a travel-based, gig-style schedule
  • Ability to arrive on time on traveling days
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks accurately
  • Willingness to accept feedback and adapt to changing project conditions
  • Ability to maintain a professional and positive attitude in fast-paced environment
  • Commitment to safety standards and site-specific procedures

HIRING REQUIREMENTS:

  • Valid State ID (Passport recommended)
  • Reliable transportation and ability to travel to multiple job sites
  • Working email address
  • Reliable smartphone with a data plan capable of using mobile apps
  • Ability to complete online employment paperwork with e-signature functionality
  • Ability to arrive on site prepared with required PPE, including work gloves
  • Ability to wear appropriate, durable work attire suitable for warehouse and construction-style environments

BONUS EXPERIENCE:

  • Wire and cable management or low-voltage support work
  • Warehouse build-outs or facility reconfiguration projects
  • Assembly of furniture, racking, or modular systems
  • Operating pallet jacks, hand trucks, or dollies
  • Forklift, scissor lift, or boom lift experience
  • Shipping, receiving, packing, or inventory work
  • Facilities, maintenance, or light construction experience

PLEASE NOTE:

This is a 100% travel-based, gig-based position and is not a full-time or part-time role with a guaranteed schedule or fixed work location. Travel costs including flights, hotels, and per diem for food will be included. Per diem is additional compensation beyond hourly pay.
