Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: PCU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year in PCU/IMC within the last 3 years License: State license required in hand to submit Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS; PALS preferred Must-Have: - PCU/IMC experience within the last 3 years - Telemetry skills - Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias - Management of post-MI patients - IV insulin protocols experience - Feeding tube care and management experience Description: This is a mixed acuity unit serving PCU and medical surgical telemetry patients. Candidates must have experience within a similar unit setting. Patient ratios will be adjusted based on acuity levels. Required skills include management of various medical conditions such as renal failure, CVA, and substance withdrawal. Candidates should be proficient in managing cardiac drips and IV protocols. Experience with post-surgical care, especially trauma and orthopedic patients, is important. Additional skills include accessing ports, administering blood products, and performing phlebotomy. Telemetry experience is essential as continuous monitoring is a key component of this role. Candidates may float to sister units and will be required to work every other weekend. Interdisciplinary support is available from various services, including respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and physical therapy. The unit cares for a diverse age group, from adolescents to geriatrics.
