• Facility: Hospital – Cardiac Operating Room (Level 1 Trauma Center)
• Position Type: Locum Tenens Surgical Tech (Travel Contract)
• Start Date: September 29, 2025
• End Date: January 10, 2026
• Assignment Length: 15 weeks
• Schedule: 12-hour rotating shifts (days/evenings/nights), every other weekend, holidays/on-call/callback/charge as needed
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1460 - $1500

Surgical Technologist Qualifications

• Active New York Surgical Technologist License (required)
• BLS Certification (American Heart Association required)
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Surgical Tech in a hospital or clinical setting
• Cardiac OR experience required: scrubbing CABG, TAVR, valve procedures (minimally invasive and sternotomies), heart failure procedures (VADs, Impella insertion, ECMO)
• Transplant experience (liver, kidney, heart) preferred
• Ability to scrub and circulate in the operating room
• Experience in a Level 1 trauma center strongly preferred

Surgical Tech Responsibilities

• Assist with a wide range of surgical procedures: cardiac, orthopedics, general surgery, plastics, urology, neuro, vascular, ophthalmic, GYN, ENT, thoracic, oral-maxillofacial, and trauma cases
• Operate and assist with Da Vinci robotic surgeries and advanced cardiac procedures
• Support transplant programs (liver, kidney, heart) as part of the surgical team
• Provide on-call, callback, and charge duties as required by the unit
• Maintain exceptional standards of patient care and safety in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary healthcare environment
