Position Title: Registered Nurse – Med/Surg Telemetry (Charge RN)

Location: Rochester, New York

Duration: 13 Weeks

Unit: Medical-Surgical / Telemetry

Schedule

• Day or Night Shift
• 4x10-hour shifts (07:00 AM – 05:00 PM / 07:00 PM – 05:00 AM)
• Option for 5x8-hour shifts available
• 40 hours per week

Position Overview

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is an experienced Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Registered Nurse (Charge RN) to provide high-quality patient care and leadership in an acute care hospital setting. The role includes direct patient care, charge responsibilities, and coordination of unit operations for a diverse adult and geriatric population.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to Med/Surg and telemetry patients
• Perform charge nurse duties and oversee daily unit operations
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and telemetry strips
• Manage dysrhythmias and respond to emergency situations
• Administer medications and IV therapies
• Perform patient assessments and develop care plans
• Coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams
• Provide care for patients requiring respiratory support (high-flow oxygen, etc.)
• Support staff supervision, scheduling, and clinical mentoring
• Maintain accurate documentation in Epic EMR

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg or Telemetry nursing experience
• Recent Charge Nurse or leadership experience required
• Travel nursing experience required
• Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Nursing program (ADN or BSN)

Licensure / Certification

• Active New York RN License (required, in hand)
• BLS (AHA) required
• NIHSS required

Skills & Experience

• Telemetry and cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Dysrhythmia management and emergency response
• Patient ratio experience (1:5–1:6 preferred)
• Epic EMR proficiency required
• Strong leadership, coaching, and team coordination skills
• Experience in acute care hospital settings
• Ability to work rotating shifts and weekends as needed
