We are seeking a talented Support Response Specialist to join our team of nearly 500 employees. CCSI is contracted by the Monroe County Office of Mental Health (MCOMH) to provide program management services, including specialized staffing and community-based behavioral health support. The Support Response Specialist (SRT) assists individuals experiencing acute grief, trauma reactions, emotional distress, safety concerns, and other psychosocial stressors related to traumatic events. The SRT provides trauma-informed, short-term emotional support, crisis intervention, and care coordination to individuals, families, and communities impacted by violence, sudden death, traumatic loss, and other critical incidents. Services are intended to promote stabilization, reduce barriers to care, support healthy coping, and facilitate connection to ongoing behavioral health and community resources.
CCSI is partnering with Monroe County Office of Mental Health to hire a Support Response Specialist. This position is employed by CCSI and working on behalf of Monroe County Office of Mental Health.
In this role, you will
- Provide trauma-informed crisis intervention, emotional and grief support, and therapeutic stabilization services to individuals and families impacted by violence, sudden death, or other traumatic events.
- Conduct brief assessments to identify behavioral health needs, trauma reactions, safety concerns, suicide risk, substance use concerns, and barriers to ongoing care.
- Initiate rapid outreach and engagement after case assignment and review of referral; Utilize a short-term case management approach
- Coordinate and facilitate referrals to formal and informal supports, including behavioral health treatment providers, victim assistance services, schools, healthcare systems, peer supports, faith-based organizations, and child/adult/family-serving systems.
- Provide psychoeducation regarding grief, trauma responses, coping strategies, and available community resources.
- Collaborate with hospitals, schools, law enforcement, community agencies, and other multidisciplinary partners to promote continuity of care and coordinated service delivery.
- Conduct outreach and supportive services in community-based settings, including hospitals, residences, schools, and other safe and appropriate environments.
- Maintain timely, accurate, and thorough documentation of phone calls, outreach attempts, meetings, assessments, safety concerns, interventions, referrals, and service plans within the County-designated database or electronic record system.
- Monitor ongoing needs and assist individuals in transitioning to longer-term behavioral health, bereavement, or supportive services when appropriate.
- Participate in team meetings, case consultations, trainings, and critical incident debriefings as required.
- Maintain confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA, agency policy, and applicable state and county regulations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned in support of program operations and community response efforts.
What you bring
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, Human Services, or a related behavioral health field preferred; professional clinical license preferred
- Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) preferred
OR
- Bachelor’s degree in a behavioral health or human services related field with a minimum of 3-5 of direct experience supporting individuals and families impacted by grief, trauma, crisis, substance use, violence, or sudden loss may be considered.
Required for this position are:
- Satisfactory completion of required background screening.
- Regular access to NYS registered, insured, and inspected vehicle for business purposes.
- Minimum $300,000 personal liability on auto insurance policy.
- Respect the confidential nature of all CCSI and CCSI customer information you are exposed to in the course of your work performance. Staff working directly with protected health information /electronically stored protected health information, personally identifiable information, and other patient/consumer/customer data, will abide by the specific procedures and policies outlined by CCSI’s Code of Conduct and CCSI’s Privacy and Security Policies, New York State regulations and Federal regulations.
