Accounting & Bookkeeping Associate
Our client, a well-established NYC-based insurance defense firm, is seeking an Accounting & Bookkeeping Associate to join its team in Huntington, NY.
The firm handles sophisticated matters including construction/labor law, general liability, insurance coverage, products liability, and appellate litigation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with budgeting, financial reporting, and audit preparation
- Generate financial reports (GL, balance sheets, etc.) for leadership
- Oversee billing processes and supervise billing team
- Manage accounts payable & receivable functions
- Support monthly/quarterly close, reconciliations, and journal entries
- Prepare payroll entries and financial/operational reports
- Coordinate with external auditors and consultants
- Analyze financial data to support strategic decisions
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting (or related) + 2+ years’ experience
- Strong QuickBooks and Excel skills required
- Highly detail-oriented and organized
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Law firm experience preferred
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive compensation ($80,000 - $100,000 – DOE)
