Histotechnologist

Job Title: Histotechnician / Histotechnologist Location: Charleston, SC Schedule: Full-Time | Night Shift Available Employment Type: Direct Hire Position Summary We’re seeking a certified Histotechnician or Histotechnologist to join a high-performing clinical pathology lab in Charleston. This role is responsible for preparing tissue specimens for microscopic examination and supporting diagnostic workflows with precision and consistency. Key Responsibilities- Perform tissue processing, embedding, microtomy, and routine/special staining (H&E, IHC, etc.)
- Prepare and label slides for pathologist review
- Operate and maintain lab equipment including microtomes, cryostats, processors, and stainers
- Ensure specimen integrity and accurate documentation throughout the workflow
- Follow established protocols for quality control and regulatory compliance
- Collaborate with lab staff to maintain a safe, efficient, and productive work environment
- ASCP certification (HT or HTL) / Open to obtaining (HT/HLT) within a year of employment
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Histotechnology or related field
- Previous experience in a clinical or hospital-based histology lab preferred
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Familiarity with lab safety standards and HIPAA compliance
