Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive perioperative nursing care across preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases in the OR.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and OR staff to ensure patient safety and aseptic technique; assist with instrument preparation and handling.
- Prepare the operating room, maintain sterile technique, assist with patient positioning, and manage equipment and supplies.
- Monitor intraoperative patient status, including vital signs and hemodynamics; document care and respond to changes promptly.
- Recognize and address safety issues for patients and staff; assist with safe patient transfers and use of lifting devices as needed.
- May assume duties as a charge nurse and participate in on-call coverage with a 30-minute response time.

Requirements
- Current New York State Registered Nurse license
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
- Lethal dysrhythmia interpretation skills
- Ability to function effectively in OR/ASU settings; knowledge of typical clinical equipment and instrumentation used in perioperative care
- Preceptorship, charge and leadership abilities preferred for experienced RNs
- On-call availability with a 30-minute response time
