HVAC Estimator
HVAC Estimator – Salary based on experience $85k to $150k
Responsibilities
- Review plans, specifications, and bid documents for HVAC projects
- Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for ductwork, piping, equipment, controls, insulation, and related materials
- Prepare accurate labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor cost estimates
- Solicit and evaluate pricing from suppliers and subcontractors
- Review bid proposals
- Attend pre-bid meetings and job site walkthroughs as required
- Coordinate with project managers, field supervisors, and service personnel during project turnover
- Maintain estimating databases and historical cost information
- Assist with cost-saving recommendations
- Support pricing of change orders and project revisions
- Manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously
- Maintain organized bid files and documentation
Qualifications
- Experience in HVAC estimating, mechanical construction, or related field preferred
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, equipment, ductwork, piping, and controls
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction documents
- Strong mathematical, analytical, and organizational skills
- Proficiency in Estimation software
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and time management skills
- Experience with commercial HVAC projects
- Knowledge of union and prevailing wage projects
- Associate degree or technical training in HVAC, construction management, or engineering
