We have an urgent requirement for Sr. GIS Specialist - Remote position with our client. Role: Sr. GIS Specialist - Remote Location: Albany, New York Duration: 16 Months Job ID: SLG - 19 - 9969 Client: NY State - Information Technology Services (ITS) Description The GIS Specialist will develop software and/or implement the automation of workflow processes as part of the modernized NYS GIS content and hosting platform, scripting of new processes, and testing of web services. Duties- Configuring and working with databases and developing functions and queries.
- Developing, testing, and deploying GIS software and GIS datasets.
- Developing scripts and/or object orient programming (python preferred).
- Running GIS data extract, transform, load (ETL) workflows, manually or through scheduled automation, including triggers, actions, indicators, notifications, and logging.
- Testing and troubleshooting technical issues with GIS database scripts, tools, and/or workflows.
- Experience (10+ Years)
- This is an 100% Remote
- Bachelor's Degree in geography, math, computer science, or related.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience.
- An equivalent combination of advanced education, training, and experience will be considered.
- 6+ years of experience in configuring and working with databases, developing functions and queries.
- 6+ years of experience developing GIS software and GIS datasets then testing and deploying.
- 6+ years of experience in developing scripts and or object orient programming, python preferred.
- 6+ years of experience in running GIS data ETL workflows, manually or through schedule, including triggers, actions, indicators, notifications and logging.
- 6+ years of experience in testing and troubleshooting technical issues with GIS databases scripts, tools, and or workflows.
