Structural Steel Estimator / Project Manager – Long Island, NY
Leading structural steel subcontractor on Long Island is seeking an experienced Structural Steel Estimator / Project Manager to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on professional with strong steel detailing, estimating, and project coordination experience.
Responsibilities:
- Manage structural steel projects from estimating through fabrication and erection
- Prepare quantity takeoffs, material estimates, and bid support
- Review contract drawings, specifications, and RFIs
- Coordinate with fabricators, shop teams, engineers, architects, and general contractors
- Oversee shop drawings, erection drawings, and detailing packages
- Track schedules, submissions, and project deliverables
- Ensure compliance with AISC standards and QA/QC procedures
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of structural steel estimating, detailing, or project management experience
- Strong knowledge of structural and miscellaneous steel fabrication
- Ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate with field/shop operations
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Preferred Experience:
- Structural steel detailing and modeling
- Fabrication coordination and erection support
- Material takeoffs and cost control
- Client and subcontractor coordination
- Experience working with commercial and industrial steel projects
