Advanced Engineer - Test - O-RAN Radio Driver

We are seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Radio Driver Test Engineer with hands-on experience in O-RAN radio integration, radio driver validation, and platform-level debugging . This is a critical role where you will work closely with platform, software, and hardware teams to ensure seamless integration and performance of O-RAN radios within cutting-edge wireless systems. This position will be located at our headquarters in Syracuse, NY.
\n Responsibilities- Design, develop, and execute test plans for radio drivers in alignment with O-RAN architecture and 3GPP specifications.
- Validate O-RAN radio integration (O-RU/O-DU) including fronthaul protocols and CUSM-plane interfaces.
- Perform functional, performance, regression, and stress testing of radio drivers across different hardware platforms.
- Debug driver issues at platform level—working across kernel, hardware abstraction layers, and interface logic.
- Collaborate with platform and software teams to reproduce, isolate, and resolve complex system-level issues.
- Ensure compliance with O-RAN specifications, contribute to alignment with evolving O-RAN Alliance standards.
- Develop and enhance automation scripts to improve regression coverage and test reliability.
- Analyze logs and traces using tools such as Wireshark, QXDM, and platform-specific debuggers.
- Provide clear documentation, defect reports, and test summaries for stakeholders and development teams.
- Support RF integration, lab setup, and field test simulations UE emulators and RF instruments.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, Communication Engineering or equivalent. Masters preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in radio driver testing, platform integration, or embedded systems validation.
- Solid experience working with O-RAN radios, O-RU/O-DU platforms, and fronthaul configurations.
- Proficient in Linux systems, kernel logs, device trees, and low-level debugging.
- Hands-on working experience with stack layers like NAS, RRC, PDCP , RLC, MAC, PHY , should able to debug issues independently.
- Good understanding of 3GPP (36/38 series) and O-RAN Alliance standards
- Hands-on experience with tools such as TM500, Amarisoft, Simnovus, or similar UE/ Radio simulators.
- Experience in Channel Emulators like Keysight PropSim , Azimuth.
- Experience on Kubernetes and containerized environment.
- Experience in automation using python , robot framework
$85,000 - $100,000 a year
The US national annual base salary range for this is $85,000 - $100,000. The range includes base salary that is expected to be paid for this role. Actual base salary will be based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the scope and complexity of the role, the successful candidate's relevant experience, skills, and knowledge, peer and market data and geographic location. This role will also include a bonus plan. \n#LI-AC1
