Bottega Social Club is looking for passionate and experienced bakers who want to be part of an emerging bread and pastry program here in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. Our cafe has been open for close to a year, and we are on the verge of opening a bakery next door.

For bread production, the ideal candidate will assist the head baker with mixing, proofing, and shaping sourdough and yeasted breads using locally grown and freshly milled grains. On the pastry side, the candidate will assist with laminating and shaping viennoiserie, producing pastry creams, cookies, cakes, and more.

The ideal candidate will possess a high attention to detail that is necessary for creating consistent and high quality bread and pastry. They should be organized, cleanly, motivated, and able to work unsupervised.

This position is ideal for a baker who would like cross training between bread and pastry. We like to foster a sense of creativity and growth, so a baker who would like to experiment with new recipes and share their own creative vision is encouraged but not necessary. Experience preferred, but willing to train the right candidate if it is a good fit! For highly experienced candidates, we can discuss a more senior role if the vision and fit are aligned. Early morning starts between 5-6am.
