Position Summary: We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Research Data Associate. We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Research Data Associate. We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Research Data Associate to provide support for a NIH-funded study testing a stress management intervention in Black women with hypertension. This project is part of the Jackson Heart Study (JHS), which is being conducted in Jackson, Mississippi (this role is in NYC). The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the Principal Investigator and the NYU and JHS study teams to ensure the accurate execution of the study protocol in accordance with Good Clinical Practices, HIPAA, IRB, and sponsor regulations. The candidate may also provide support for other trials testing psychosocial interventions in people with other chronic diseases. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: participant recruitment, baseline and follow up data collection, participant tracking, data management and quality control, and intervention delivery support. Responsible for protocol compliance and accurate data entry. Assists with IRB submissions and preparation of progress reports as needed.

Job Responsibilities:

• Project Knowledge: Demonstrate mastery of research protocols. Have a thorough knowledge of current department research studies and their rationales.
• Participant Recruitment and Data Collection: Recruit and screen patients for eligibility; if eligible, complete necessary paperwork, questionnaires, and tests. Review entered data, edit obvious errors, and obtain missing information. Document all data accurately and neatly. Maintain patient confidentiality. Adhere to adverse events reporting protocols.
• Intervention Delivery: Follow treatment and control group intervention delivery protocol rigorously. Provide logistical support to participants as needed. Update all tracking logs associated with the interventions in an accurate and timely manner.
• Participant Tracking: Track participant flow through the study and update tracking logs in an accurate and timely manner. Maintain participant tracking databases for compliance with data monitoring and confidentiality protocols.
• Administrative Duties : Assist with administrative duties as needed such as filing, copying, faxing, deliveries, and document preparation among others. Assist with institutional review board submissions and preparation of progress reports as needed.
• Participate in special projects and perform other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications: To qualify you must have a Associate's degree plus one year related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Computer literate with good interpersonal, writing and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree, preferably in science, public health, health education or a related field. Prior experience in a health care settings. Proficiency in using various Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook. Familiar with Internet applications. Effective oral, written, communication, interpersonal skills. Ability to work within a team environment as well as independently.Fluent in Spanish. Experienced with REDCap. Time management skills and ability to work well under pressure. Exceptional organization skills and attention to detail. Must be able to follow study protocol rigorously.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $45,600.00 - $52,000.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
