Landscape crew member
Landscape Crew Member – Bison FMS
Do you take pride in making a property look sharp? Does working outside with a skilled crew beat sitting behind a desk every day? Do you want to work for a company that keeps you busy year-round — not just when the weather is nice? Do you value both hard work and a team that has your back? If so, Bison FMS is the place for you.
Bison FMS is a commercial facility management and landscaping company serving properties across an 11-county region of upstate New York, including the Adirondack, Capital Region, and North Country areas. We deliver commercial landscaping, hardscaping, facility services, snow and ice management, and more. Our attention to detail, quality of work, and expectation that our employees work to achieve above industry standards remains the standard we set from day one. Our core values of trustworthy, old-school work ethic, self accounable, we are a team guide everything we do.
Here’s what makes Bison FMS different: we run a full-service operation across all four seasons. That means when the mowers go away in the fall, you don’t. Our landscape crew members cross-train into snow and ice operations in the winter, giving you consistent, year-round employment — something most landscaping jobs simply can’t offer.
We are searching for a Landscape Crew Member to join our growing team. This person will work as part of a commercial landscaping crew performing mowing, trimming, edging, blowing, irrigation, fertilizing, seasonal cleanups, mulching, and related services at commercial properties throughout our service area. The right candidate takes pride in their work, shows up ready to go, and wants to grow with a company that is growing with them.

Operate commercial mowing equipment, string trimmers, blowers, and other landscaping tools safely and efficiently.

Apply fertilizer, pre-emergent, and other treatments as directed by the crew leader.
Perform spring and fall property cleanups, including leaf removal, debris clearing, and bed maintenance.
Install and maintain mulch beds, plant material, and seasonal color as directed.
Assist with commercial hardscaping installation and maintenance, including paver work, retaining walls, and landscape edging.
Maintain a clean, professional appearance at job sites and on company vehicles/equipment.
Communicate effectively with the crew leader and report any issues, damage, or customer concerns immediately.
Participate in snow and ice management operations during the winter season, including salting, plowing assistance, sidewalk clearing, and related tasks.
Follow all OSHA safety standards and company safety protocols at all times.
Other duties as assigned.

Previous landscaping, groundskeeping, or outdoor labor experience preferred — but we will train the right person with the right attitude.
Ability to safely operate commercial mowing equipment, string trimmers, blowers, and hand tools.
Willingness and ability to perform physical outdoor work in all weather conditions, day in and day out.
Must hold a valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record; ability to tow a trailer is preferred.
Ability to use a smartphone for timekeeping, work order reporting, and communication.
Strong work ethic — you show up on time, work hard, and finish the job right.
Team player — you communicate, collaborate, and support your crew.
Flexibility in schedule is vital, particularly during peak season and weather events.
Maintain a reliable and dependable attendance record.
High level of integrity and accountability.
