ER Registered Nurse Job Details

• Location: Rochester, NY 14626 (New York healthcare jobs)
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (October 27, 2025 – January 26, 2026)
• Shifts: Day shifts, 3x12-hour (07:00 – 19:00 or 11:00 – 23:00)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Setting: Emergency Room (ER) – Adult and Pediatric
• Patient Ratios: 1:5, mixed/shared acuity
• Orientation: 16 hours
• Charting System: Epic (Epic EMR experience required)
• Scrub Colors: Navy and white combinations
• Float: Required based on census
• Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend

ER RN Qualifications

• Active New York Registered Nurse (RN) license (must have at submission)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency Room nursing experience
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS
• Proficiency with Epic charting system (hard requirement)
• Ability to float to other units as needed
• Experience caring for all patient age groups: neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, geriatrics
• Must reside at least 75 miles from the facility (travel nursing requirement)

ER Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care to patients with diverse diagnoses and acuity levels
• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias, multisystem organ dysfunction/failure, and administer emergency medications
• Perform blood product administration, central line care, phlebotomy, and IV starts
• Administer continuous IV paralytics, sedation, and vasopressors
• Deliver procedural sedation and manage patients with cerebrovascular accidents (CVA)
• Maintain strict isolation precautions and follow infection control protocols
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including IV, physical therapy, respiratory, and pharmacy
• Float to other clinical units as required
• Document all patient care accurately in Epic EMR
