Position Overview
We are seeking a licensed Clinical Psychologist to join our team in providing high-quality psychological assessments and diagnostic services for children and adolescents. The Clinical Psychologist will specialize in the evaluation and diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), as well as differential diagnosis of related developmental, behavioral, and mental health conditions. This role is ideal for a compassionate clinician with expertise in autism diagnostics and a commitment to supporting individuals and families with evidence-based care.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations, including clinical interviews, behavioral observations, standardized assessments, and diagnostic testing for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and related conditions.
Administer and interpret evidence-based assessment tools such as the ADOS-2, ADI-R, cognitive and adaptive functioning measures, and social-emotional assessments.
Provide clear, strengths-based diagnostic reports with individualized recommendations for interventions, supports, and services.
Collaborate with families, schools, and healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care and appropriate referrals for therapies and supports.
Stay current with best practices and research related to autism spectrum disorders and developmental psychology.
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in compliance with ethical and legal standards.
Requirements & Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from an APA-accredited program.
- Active New York State license as a Clinical Psychologist.
- Demonstrated experience in autism spectrum disorder evaluation and diagnosis.
- Proficiency in administering and interpreting gold-standard autism diagnostic tools (e.g., ADOS-2, ADI-R).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex findings clearly to families and professionals.
- Commitment to culturally responsive and family-centered care.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
Experience working with children and adolescents with developmental disabilities.
Knowledge of community resources, special education systems, and therapeutic services on Long Island.
Bilingual skills are a plus.
