The Board of Education of Salamanca City Central School District will accept written applications for the following anticipated position:

(2) 12-Month Cleaner

Second Shift - 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Through their daily work and collaboration with staff, Cleaners help ensure that our buildings are orderly, healthy, and ready to support students and staff each day.

Position Summary

This is a 12-month position. The salary will be $16.50 to $18.00 per hour, based on experience and in accordance with the current Salamanca Service Staff Organization (SSSO) Negotiated Collective Bargaining Agreement.

This position involves primarily routine manual work calling for the efficient and economical performance of cleaning and minor maintenance tasks. Work is performed under general supervision according to established procedures.

Typical Work Activities:

• Sweeps, mops, and waxes floors and stairs;

• Dusts chairs, tables, and other furniture;

• Washes windows, walls, sinks, and other fixtures;

• Polishes furniture and metal furnishings;

• Empties waste baskets, collects and disposes of rubbish;

• Replaces soap and towels;

• Moves and arranges chairs, tables, and other furnishings and equipment;

• Cleans clothes, equipment, and other laundry items using washing and drying machines;

• May load and unload materials, parts, or products manually or using a hoist;

• May shovel snow from sidewalks, stairs, and other passages;

• May direct facility users to appropriate areas and observe their conduct to report violations facility rules;

• May open, close, and check building securing windows, locks, and doors;

• May collect, fold, sort, and distribute laundry and linen items;

• May perform minor maintenance tasks;

• May operate motor vehicle to travel from one work site to another.

• All other duties as assigned.
