Overview

Associates of Glens Falls Insurance is an established and independently owned insurance agency with national reach. We specialize in Property and Casualty (P&C) insurance products for both Personal and Commercial clients. We are well-known for our work in the Construction, Manufacturing, Social Services, Resort, and Recreation industries.

Our office is growing, and we are seeking a motivated and detail‑oriented Associate Claims Specialist to join our Claims team. The Associate Claims Specialist plays a key role in enhancing service quality, maintaining client relationships, and ensuring efficient claim handling from first notice of loss through closure.

This is a full-time in-office position. Our ideal candidate will have previous Personal Lines and/or Commercial Lines insurance experience, be a proactive self-starter who enjoys learning, thrives in a collaborative environment, and contributes to a culture of excellent client service. They think creatively, communicate professionally, and are motivated by both accuracy and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

· Intake and process initial loss information; ensure prompt reporting to carrier(s).

· Maintain claim files and update the agency management system, including downloads and status changes.

· Follow claims through the full lifecycle, ensuring regular follow-up until closure.

· Assist with reviewing coverages and researching policy-related questions for internal staff and clients.

· Prepare claim summaries for client presentations, proposals, and analytics.

· Order loss runs and upload data into analytic platforms for reporting.

Communication & Relationship Management

· Maintain consistent and meaningful communication with clients throughout their claim (phone, email, updates on reserves, payments, pending documentation, etc.).

· Work collaboratively with insurance adjusters, contractors, mitigation vendors, and other external partners to support claim progress.

· Support strengthening client relationships by contributing to improved service quality and responsiveness.

Operational Support

· Assist other team members with claim and coverage inquiries.

· Fill in for the Claims Manager during absences.

· Participate in service survey follow-up and other client service functions as needed.

Qualifications

Experience in the P&C Insurance Industry. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work independently and pay attention to detail.

Other suggested qualifications/skills:

NYS P&C Brokers License or willingness to obtain. Experience with Applied Epic or similar agency management systems and insurance carriers’ online portals.

Salary: $60,000 - $80,000
