Job Description

The Head of Market Risk, Global Prime Brokerage provides oversight of Prime Brokerage globally. The role is accountable for establishing, monitoring and risk setting of both margin and gap risk frameworks. This role is responsible for identifying key market risks (and contingent market risks) and instituting appropriate risk metrics to assess these risks.

• Provides oversight of market risk for Prime Brokerage globally.
• Work closely with Counterparty Credit and Counterparty Analytics team to ensure adequate coverage for Prime Brokerage businesses. This includes the establishment, monitoring and risk setting of both margin and gap risk frameworks.
• Responsible for identifying key market risks (and contingent market risks) and instituting appropriate risk metrics to assess these risks.
• Maintains thorough understanding of all key risk and risk-related issues through continual review of risk reports/related data and dialogue with relevant parties.
• Establishes dialogue with TDS trading desks regarding current positions, key risks, market views and business strategies.
• Establishes and maintains policies and procedures governing how the business produces and manages market risk.
• Develops a thorough understanding of business strategies and key factors contributing to profitability.
• Brief senior management on key risks and works with trading desks on effective risk mitigation strategies.
• Regular engagement with global regulators, including OSFI & FRB.
• Works closely with Product Control to understand drivers of P&L and analyzes desks performance.
• Facilitates the design of appropriate stress tests and scenarios at product, business line and Firm levels
• Provides analysis and commentary of key risks across stress and capital measures for senior management review.
• Keeps abreast of new risk management techniques and industry literature.
• Demonstrates governance, control and risk management behaviors in alignment with TD policies.
• Effective business leader with experience leading high-impact and diverse teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's University degree or equivalent required
• Masters in Mathematics, Science or Finance/Economics or CFA designation preferred
• 10+ years of relevant industry experience
• Lead a team of subject matter experts
