Role Highlights:
We’re hiring a hands-on Head of Infrastructure to guide a small, high-performing engineering team, set direction and deliver initiatives across a hybrid environment, and work closely with stakeholders. The remit combines technical delivery with team development—balancing strategic leadership and deep technical involvement. We’re looking for someone energized by a fast-moving environment and committed to building scalable, secure, and highly automated platforms.

Key responsibilities include:

• Lead and mentor the infrastructure team (7 engineers) during a major business scale-up.
• Own core infrastructure domains: CI/CD, networking, hardware & performance tuning, data platforms & pipelines, scaled compute, security & access.
• Raise engineering standards by applying proven industry experience and sound practices.
• Drive modernization and upgrades across key stack components with full management buy-in.
• As a small firm striving for growth while maintaining high P&L per person, this role is 60–80% hands-on (as opposed to pure management).

Requirements

• 5+ years in a relevant role at a top HFT firm (not banks or funds) within the last 7 years.
• Demonstrated management and leadership skills while still being >50% hands-on.
• Background in a startup-phase HFT firm or trading team experience is highly desirable.
  
  Tech Skills:
• End-to-end understanding of modern HFT platforms, including production and research environments.
• Knowledge of operating systems; kernel-level understanding of device/system mechanisms for Linux.
• Linux/bash, Python.
