The HVAC Lead Installer is responsible for leading, managing, and executing the installation of diverse HVAC and oil equipment on residential and light commercial job sites within a tight local service radius. This role requires daily reporting to the Amityville office, superior quality assurance, and a commitment to coaching junior team members.

Responsibilities and Expectations

  • Lead and manage a team of HVAC and oil equipment installers on all residential and light commercial installation projects. This includes overseeing helpers and ensuring team coordination.

  • Perform expert-level installations of diverse equipment, including oil heating systems, central A/C units, ductless systems, boilers, and related HVAC components.

  • Ensure material readiness by verifying that all necessary materials and specialized tools are on the truck and ready for the jobsite.

  • Ensure quality workmanship by actively supervising installations and guaranteeing all work adheres strictly to company standards and local codes.

  • Actively foster the growth of junior team members by providing effective training and mentorship.

  • Communicate effectively and professionally with customers, providing updates and ensuring satisfaction upon project completion.

  • Collaborate seamlessly with internal departments to coordinate schedules, materials, and project timelines efficiently.

Requirements

  • Extensive, hands-on experience (minimum of 3+ years required, 5+ years preferred) with the installation of HVAC equipment (A/C, boilers, ductless). Oil installation experience is strongly preferred, but NOT a hard requirement.

  • Proven ability to successfully manage job sites, oversee projects, and guide installation teams.

  • Must demonstrate high accountability, possess a low ego, be coachable, and maintain a strong communicator approach.

  • EPA Certification and relevant HVAC licenses are highly preferred for this lead role.

  • Prior Nexstar training is a huge plus.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

  • Must possess a Valid Driver’s License and maintain a clean driving record

  • Must possess an upbeat/positive attitude and be a strong team player.

The compensation for this position is expected to between $30.00 to $50.00 per hour based on skills and experience. This range is a good-faith estimate, based on the qualifications necessary for the position, including experience, training, and other considerations permitted by law. Factors that may be used when making an offer may include a candidate’s skills, experience, the expected quality and quantity of work, and internal pay alignment, as needed.
