Preventive TASA Caseworker
Pro Action of Steuben and Yates, Inc. was established in 1965 with a mission to combat poverty and improve the quality of life for low-income individuals and families in Steuben and Yates counties. Over the years, the organization has evolved to meet the changing needs of the community. The agency's philosophy in addressing poverty has also evolved, incorporating evidence-based practices and holistic approaches to better serve the community.
Preventive/ TASA Caseworker- $24-$25.26/hour
Pro Action’s Resilient Children and Families Home Based program is accepting applications for a Preventive/ TASA Caseworker. The Caseworker is responsible for:
· Providing support services to individuals and families experiencing economic, emotional, social, and environmental challenges.
· Supporting the family in creating and achieving goals that meet their needs.
· Maintaining professional relationships with community agencies and providing referrals.
· Providing support and counseling to motivate families to increase their own confidence.
A bachelor’s degree in human services, social work, psychology, or related field is required. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of interviewing and counseling techniques, the ability to communicate with a variety of people as well as organize and plan work effectively. A working knowledge of social, health, and other related agencies in the community is encouraged. Experience with practices and procedures of modern casework and social factors affecting individual and families as well as knowledge of federal, state and local laws is encouraged.
The ideal candidate must have a valid driver’s license, meeting agency standards per position and consistent, reliable transportation that will allow regular travel in and around the service area.
