Location:
New York City – Assignments primarily in Manhattan, Bronx, and Brooklyn
Schedule:
- Flexible availability preferred
- Opportunities available Monday through Sunday
- We work with you to match shifts to your availability whenever possible
What You’ll Do
- Provide hands-on care for clients with dementia or Alzheimer’s
- Assist with mobility, including transfers and repositioning
- Support bed-bound or wheelchair-bound clients
- Create a calm, reassuring environment for clients and families
- Deliver care with patience, dignity, and respect
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience as a Home Health Aide (HHA)
- Experience with dementia or Alzheimer’s care strongly preferred
- Comfortable assisting with transfers (Hoyer lift experience is a big plus)
- Reliable, compassionate, and attentive
- Strong communication and caregiving instincts

Responsibilities:
- Providing companionship to older adults and people with chronic health conditions in their homes (e.g., discussing current events, creating artwork, reviewing photo albums).
- Providing compassionate, patient hands-on personal care support for ADLs, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and transfers.
- Planning activities outside the home and accompanying clients to keep them engaged with the world and their favorite pastimes (e.g., trips to museums, concerts, plays, or the park).
- Escorting clients to doctors’ appointments.
- Running errands for clients (e.g., grocery shopping, sundries).
- Reminding clients to take their medications.
- Doing light exercise with clients (e.g., helping with stretching routine or prescribed physical therapy).
- Assisting clients in preparing meals.
- Performing light housekeeping, such as dusting, tidying, and laundry.
Qualifications:
We welcome candidates with diverse backgrounds including the creative arts and healthcare fields. Our employment is selective. Strong candidates possess:
- A valid HHA certificate in New York State
- A passion for caring for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. Prior experience working with this population is valued, but not required.
- An accredited high school diploma, though we prefer candidates with college and advanced degrees.
- Deep empathy and patience.
- Flexibility, reliability, and responsiveness.
- Creativity and a positive, open-hearted approach.
- Strong composure under pressure.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to build trust-based relationships with clients and their families.
