The College’s 50-acre campus encompasses seven buildings, including science and computer labs, music and television studios, a Performing Arts Center, and a Health and Physical Education Center. Reporting to the Assistant Vice President/Dean of Students, Student Affairs, the incumbent has an overall responsibility for the administration of mental health care services to the student community and consultative services to the entire college community. The incumbent manages development of departmental budget and fiscal affairs, assessment records, and support for specialized students groups; This role interfaces with academic departments, other college offices, and student groups to assess program needs and develop appropriate responses, with an expectation to participate in inter-divisional programs to increase student success and retention, and collaboration with the Center staff in planning and carrying out outreach and wellness activities. In addition to administrative tasks, the incumbent also provides short-term individual psychotherapy, as well as weekly supervision in compliance with the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) Commission on Accreditation to support MSW Scholars with practicum placements.
In addition to the CUNY Title Overview, duties will include:
- Manage day-to-day operations of the Center.
- Conducts initial evaluations and provides individual short-term psychotherapy to students and conducts medical leave evaluations.
- Supervises the student Psychological Counselors, Administrative Assistant, and MSW interns.
- Sets and executes mental health policies and procedures.
- In collaboration with the Sr. Director of Wellness and Resources, manages students’ psychological crises.
- Oversees the referral process for connecting students to off campus mental health care, including establishing connections with outside agencies and community providers.
- Within the guidelines of confidentiality, consults with faculty and administrators regarding specific students’ needs and mental health issues.
- Create and manage external partnerships to provide students with additional resources to support their mental health and overall wellbeing.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree and eight years' related experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree from a CSWE accredited program, New York State (NYS) License Clinical Social Work (LCSW) strongly preferred.

$131,444 - $145,671 - Salary commensurate with education and experience.
