Direct Counsel is seeking a Financial Institutions Group Associate Attorney to join a highly respected Am Law firm.
Location: New York, New York
This is an opportunity to join a sophisticated Financial Institutions Group representing clients in complex mergers and acquisitions and strategic transactions involving financial institutions. The practice advises on high-profile transactions across the financial services sector and works closely with major industry participants on market-leading matters.
Attorneys in this group handle a broad range of transactional work involving banks, insurers, asset managers, and other financial institutions, with significant exposure to complex deal structures, regulatory considerations, and client-facing responsibilities. The team offers a collaborative and fast-paced environment with meaningful opportunities for professional development and advancement.
QualificationsThe ideal candidate will have approximately 3–5 years of M&A transactional experience at a leading law firm, including experience working on transactions involving financial institutions. Prior experience with insurance M&A transactions is strongly preferred.
Candidates should possess strong drafting, analytical, and communication skills, along with the ability to manage sophisticated matters and work effectively in a team-oriented environment. A high level of academic achievement and strong law firm experience are preferred.
Candidates must be admitted to the applicable state bar or eligible to waive in.
Compensation & BenefitsThe expected base salary range for this position is $260,000 – $365,000, depending on experience and other job-related factors.
